About Doctor Syntax the best Hotel in Hobart

Originally dating from 1846, this traditional hotel is 2.1 km from the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, 1.6 km from Brooke Street pier (ferry to Mona) and 14 km from Mount Wellington.

Accommodation consists of 10 straightforward rooms with modern decor. All rooms provide flat-screen TVs and en suite, mini fridges, tea and coffee making facilities. There are no other kitchen facilities included.

Amenities include a relaxed Dining Room, a low-key sports bar and a heated beer garden at the best hotel in Hobart.

Whether you love a great steak, a classic parmi, seafood options, are vegetarian or gluten free, there are choices aplenty. There’s a great mix of modern dishes as well as all the pub favourites, with a regular selection of specials offering something new and interesting to try. There are even family size platters for those wishing to share. And let’s not forget our Seniors Menu (lunch times only Monday to Friday) and a Kids Menu. So many choices!

Incredible food and staff. Amazing service. Great prices and atmosphere. Cannot fault the place at all although I would recommend booking for meals as it fills up fast which is no shock. Cannot comment on the accommodation as I have not stayed with them.

Great location. Comfortable rooms, en- suite in all rooms. Great bar staff downstairs. 15 minute walk to Salamanca markets. Food is fantastic. This place is biker friendly, big car park at the back. I'd recommend this place, and I'd come back again.

Good food, relaxed atmosphere, and didn't try and rush you out the door when you finished your meal. Wasn't the first time dining and won't be the last

The room was excellent, total hidden gem this place is. Secure card tap to enter the building. The bed was comfy, beautiful cotton sheets and snuggly warm doonas, fluffy towels, room well equip with fridge etc, bathroom clean and fabulous shower. Staff here are excellent they love their jobs and it shines out of them!! Shops all around, lots of choices for meals, though the property has a fabulous restaurant with delicious affordable meals & excellent service. Buses out the front door, Salamanca & the heart of Hobart just around the corner, excellent base for exploring the Huon Valley, Cygnet, Richmond areas. The carpark has 2 entries for convenience. And is safe & secure, well lit at night. We stayed 3 nights and it was excellent
